yea, I'll rest easier knowing I will never see that stuff again while I am living!

Sooooo...does anybody really know what this means as far as availability?? I contacted Hornady a couple weeks ago asking when VV powders would be available again, and have not gotten a response.
If they don't become available soon, people are going to move on to other powders(some already have)

Is this a typo, or do you mean Hornady?

Hodgdon?

Somehow this doesn't read as if supply availability or prices will improve.

I'm happy it's not going by the way of the dinosaur also. ;)

I've been shooting the 500 series of powders for the last 3 years, but the price hikes it takes have pushed it out of my pay grade. I did pick up 48lbs of N570 this summer for 35.51 a pound, but in September I got 11 pounds of N550 from Precision Reloading, because of the size of the order, my 11 lbs came in at over 42.00 a pound. I'm afraid even Powder Valley's price by the time they get any will be 38.50-39.00 a lb, what Graf's, and Sinclair, etc.. have been getting all year.

I'm just scared I'll have to say goodbye to great product. :'(

Great! Things went well after all. The French ex-owners really scared us here, when they threatened to shut down the plant! I guess they just pumped up the price. Well, now VV is in good hands. Nammo is owned by us (Patria) and norwegians (the state of Norway). The new owner invests heavily to raise up production and also builds a new heating plant and so on.

Keep on burning the good stuff!

Sako 223, Thanks for the input. Will the plant be moving to Norway? Or, will Patria just refurbish the French facility?

Nammo (Nordic Ammunition Group) is the same conglomerate that owns Lapua, the Vihtavuori plant is already in Finland, I doubt that it will be moved.

Melvin: I don't believe Hodgdon would have anything to say about the future production of Vihta Vouri powder. That would be like asking Ford about Chevy availability.

Kevin Thomas, with Lapua, may have some information on the subject.

It was a logical way to go. Norma has their own line of powders and now Lapua will also. N133 remains my favorite for the 6ppc's. Fortunately I stocked up while it was still available, when the rumors of the plant closing first began, so I'm covered for a while.

Whatever happens it is good news though.
