N160 for 6.5 Creed

Far from being a expert on this subject , but I think I'd be real nervous about pulling the trigger on that load at 75 or 80 degrees . Just sayin
How much will a 50 degree temperature swing defect pressure?

I do not intend to jam the bullets, unless I have to in my load development - very unlikely.

I would think that doing pressure testing jammed would cause a larger pressure spike than a 50 degree temperature swing, but what do I know??

I think you just need to test it at higher temps to find out. I developed my current 284 load with it when it was 30 to 40 degrees. Now that its about 70 degrees, I am finding I need to back off a half grain to get it back in tune. Pressure and velocity have risen but I cant say how far.

Was going by your post saying you were near full case capacity , and doing a light jam . Or did I mis-read that ? We have the reverse affect here in the desert , due to our extremely high summer temps , so most develop loads in the 70 - 80 degree range so we can Bump up as it gets cooler towards the winter season , or bump down going into summer months . A load that may work at 70 degrees may be a problem at 110 or higher . A full case load developed at 40 degrees may also become a problem at 75 - 80 for the same reasons . Even though you are in a lower temp bracket . Being cautious is never out of style .

My fill density is 98.2% with the N160, 184s and a 0.235 freebore in my 284. I agree with you about caution and temp swings. I shoot between 10 degrees and 110. I check my loads monthly throughout the year. The H4831sc, H4350 and RL23 I shoot in my 284 change velocities some but don't require tweaking of charge weights. My Dasher loads are a different story. I recently started shooting 30" barrels in everything with the idea of running the same velocities but just not pushing things as hard. That has given me more room to play with since my pressures are down below what I have always run before.
