N150 in 6br

Been trying some n150 with 105vld's in a 6br the last couple days but not having much luck. Been from 28.5 all the way to 31. Anyone ever ran more than 31 grains and had any success? Berger manual says 30.8 max but I didn't have any pressure at 31. Bought to give up and just go back to varget. Any recommendations?

I shot my best 600 yard 3 shot groups with my stock Savage 6 BR with this powder. Sub 1", 1.2" and 1.6".

It did not hold up in match conditions due to changes in temperature.

What distance are you shooting them at and what is your barrel twist rate? Don't want to send you on a wild goose chase, but the varget may be your better load with the 105's. Now if it's short distance (100 yds), that's another story and I might be able to suggest another load but NOT using the 105's.

8 twist barrel.i was was testing at 250. Will mostly be shooting 2 and3 hundred score matches but will sometimes take it out farther.

I ended up shooting N150 during the powder shortage and found it very accurate. I ended up shooting 28.5 gn in my 30 in barrel with 105 hybrids and got about 2800 fps. Was very accurate at 100 to 600 but the wind blew it around so much I went to 6xc when I shot out the barrel. I used up most of an 8lb jug.

I used N150 in a 6BR I had. It was the most accurate powder I tried in it. The real possibility exists that it is not the powder your rifle don't like, it could be your barrel is not partial to the VLD. Try a tangent ogive bullet like the 108 Berger.

Thanks for the comments. The vld's shoot good over the varget but I will try some 108bt as soon as I run out of 105's I won from Berger. Also going to try backing them out of the lands with the n150 and see what happens.

29.5 grains behind 107g SMK. 7.5 twist Pacnor barrel on a Savage 12

Try this seating depth testing information:
http://www.bergerbullets.com/getting-the-best-precision-and-accuracy-from-vld-bullets-in-your-rifle/
And how bullet seating depth can affect cartridge case powder capacity, pressure, velocity and accuracy here:

Any bullet seating depth testing should be done at the lowest powder charge for the bullet/powder/cartridge combination you are testing. Once the bullet seating depth accuracy node is found. Work the load back up slowly checking for pressure signs and accuracy until your highest velocity accuracy node is found. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at any time! Thanks for using our bullets!

Take care,
