N135 in a .223 w/ 50-55 grain bullets

I need to buy some N135 for my 6BR but don't really need 8 lbs, however if it works in the .223 I think I will go ahead and get 8lbs.

N133 works great in my .223s, but how would N135 work? I use a lot of Varget in my .223s and N135 has a similar burn rate. Any advice would be appreciated.

I use N135 in 6BR and 222Rem, N140 in 223 for 69 gr bullet in 8 twist 28'' barrel. Don't see why N135 would not work well in your case. Lapua starts listing loads of N135 in 223 for the 45 gr bullet up to the 80 grain bullet.

Otter,

N135 is an excellent choice in the 223 Rem, particularly where bullets from 45-60 grains are concerned. While it can be used with heavier bullets than these, they really call for a slower powder like N140 or N540. It also works for very lightweight projectiles, but N133 would be a better choice with the under 45 options. For the mid-weight range of 45-60 grains though, N135 is absolutley ideal. We hit our top velocities with this powder in virtually all these mid-range bullet weights.

I use N135 with 69 gr SMKs in my Pre-Accutrigger Savage 110 FP.

In good conditions, it will do sub .3" and I strongly believe the combination is capable of better.

N-135 is my first choice for use with 62 to 69 gr. bullets in the .223 bolt gun I shoot. I don't shoot 52 or 55 gr. bullets in that rifle since the heavier bullets are more consistently accurate for me in that application. I do shoot the lighter bullets in an AR, where I have found the new 8028 to outperform both N-133 and 135 for my use.

Thanks for the info guys. I don't think extra N135 will ever go un-used, so I will order 8 lbs of it.
