Mystery Meat Bullet Solved

Being a man of modest means, I frequently bought factory seconds, blems and overruns from Midway back when they were actually affordable. I was rooting around, putting together a "Care Package" for a new reloader and came upon this box of 165gr .308 Bullets:

They look similar to Hornady SST's except for the bronze colored ballistic tips. Having exhausted my patience Googling images of different brands of bullets, I hoped someone here could ID them. I just want to give him some make & model to look up load data by.

Thanks,

Hoot

The only one i know of with that color tip are Nosler E-Tips.
And those are monos.

Did you actually weigh them, or going by "advertized"?
Yes, they weigh 165gr. The Nosler 30 cal stuff i saw was either white tipped or green. Years ago, I bought some Remington 17HMR ammo that had bronze tips, but that's it.

I've bought blem bullets that were certainly Hornady, and yet the tips were gray. I wonder if they are dyed or bleached once they become blems?

Hornady "zombie " bullets had a different colored tip I believe. Not sure if they made them in .308" though. Zmax maybe they were called?

btw my factory second 208 amax bullets had grey tips. That cannelure and boat tail length screams sst to me. If those lengths are close to the jbm list I'd call it.

I actually have a box of those as well. 168gr with weird lime green tips. I believe they're an analog to Amax.

The Mystery Meats are SST, no doubt, made for some ammo manufacturer like Remington.
