Mystery 30.06 load?

I have a factory Savage 30.06.It is going off to be rebarreled in a few weeks, but in the meantime, I am playing with loads.,I have been at this for about 10 months). Anyway, I fired a 3-rd group of 1" using Fed cases, CCI200 primers, 55.9 gr of IMR4350 and Berger 155 VLD's. The rds were loaded barely touching the lands. I very carefully reloaded the same components, and shot a 5-rd group of .664". Wow! I'm there right? Wrong! I then very carefully loaded 15 rds using the same components and the tightest group was like 1.25". All of the above shot at 100 yds in Louisiana where the temp and humidity don't very much in August. Any thoughts or suggestions?

My thought is - always refer to Murphy's Laws. No 217 says, "NEVER expect to get the same result twice, especially if the result you are hoping to duplicate is a good one."

A few 3-shot groups don't tell you much. But on the bright side, you are averaging around 1 MOA which in a factory 30-06 is not too bad.
