My Wood Rail Gun Project

Not going to be surprised when Jackie wins the Nationals with this new rail of his !!!
There is a world of difference in sitting down and shooting tiny groups while taking your time to hit the condition perfect than doing it on the clock under Match Conditions.

I have won an Unlimited yardage at a Nationals. I know what it takes. That was over 25 years ago.

I believe this Rifle shoots well enough. I have serious doubts about the shooter.

I would think the dead barrel would be a very good thing. If the gun is immune to the concussions going on around it, that has to be a plus. That was one thing I noticed when I first started using glass stocks, in the mid-seventies; quite often, they would ring like a bell. I remember one rifle which was a real ringer. It would actually blur the crosshairs in the scope immediately after the shot. Anyway, I think dead would be good
I recall seeing a rifle in a laminated stock which mounted the barrel in a Micarta block. This would have been in '78 or '79. I don't recall who was shooting it. WH

I've heard some HG LRBR aluminum stocked rifles that rung like a tuning fork. IIRC they weren't very competitive.
