My thoughts on IBS and GBA Nationals

So I made the 491 mile trip to Hawks Ridge for IBS long-range nationals. No I didn’t forget anything even though I thought I was. I just wanted to say it was a great shoot and it was run by some really friendly people. I was asked my thoughts on ways to improve it and to be honest I really couldn’t come up with any.

Everything ran extremely smoothly and it just moved right along even though we had over 100 shooters. I heard of no real issues at all and again the people were just so friendly.

Two weeks ago I was fortunate enough to be able to shoot GBA nationals at Harry Jones Memorial Range. It too, was run extremely well and everything went smoothly. The people there were exceptional as well.

Two great matches, simple as that.

I have come to the conclusion that the shooting community in general is made up of lots and lots of good, honest, fun loving people. I know there has been some bad history in the past between GBA members and IBS members and to be honest I really don’t know everything that went on, nor do I care to.

What I do know is we are all fortunate to be able to go to matches like these and do what we love to do. I would like to ask that members on both sides would try to treat each other with civility that each of us deserves.

I’m sure this may be difficult for some to hear but we really need to stick together now because so many are trying to take away our ability to do what we love. I would like to ask that both on this forum, and in person we treat each other fairly. We don’t need to be attacking each other when there are plenty attacking us already. They would like nothing more than to see us tear each other apart.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I totally agree with you a 100 percent even though I was involved in this disagreement your very much right in your equation I think both organizations are here to stay an should keep there bad feelings to there selves we all the same bunch of shooters just different politics.

Thanks Stan.

I just thought I should clarify something. My post was not inspired by anything I witnessed at this match or either match for that matter. It was inspired by this billboard which I saw on the way to my hotel last night. I drove back to get the photo this morning. This is only where they will start.

Dave,

You couldn’t have made a more profound and productive statement in light of the current political environment. We will always have different opinions from organization to organization, but we can’t turn from one another in our solidarity to keep and bear arms.

Thank you!

God bless the United States of America!

Dave Everything you have said about all our organizations is right, we all love the sport and keep supporting each other. I wish I could have been there this weekend with you guys but five weekends in a row was way to much for me, and of coarse the wife. Oh and Dave keep doing a great job with your shooting. Hope to see you again this weekend unless your getting burnt out.
When I see signs like that it makes me think. They give everyone of these criminals a fare shake, but the law abiding people like us that want to enjoy our sport are looked down on like it's our fault this stuff is happening.
