My New Portable Shooting Bench

I recently stumbled across an old thread about portable shooting benches and decided to check up further on Legacy Shooting Products bench. It looked good on their website so I ordered one and it came in yesterday. I think Wade knocked this one out of the park. The materials and workmanship are top notch and I really like Wade's ingenious adjustable legs as I shoot in a pasture and those easily adjusted legs are going to be great. I can't wait to try it out as soon as it dries up.

Looks like a very well made and designed bench with quality materials. Only downside that I can see, based on a lifetime of field shooting colony rodents, is that it does not rotate. But for just target work, it looks to be a very nice piece of equipment that will serve you well and last a lifetime.

OT: Looks like a very nice shop/loading area too. :)

What is the material at the front under the rest? Are the points on the thumbscrews able to dig in and stay put?

How heavy is it? That would be my only question as getting older takes its toll on old bones.

The website describes the surface under the rest as a "Non-Skid Textured surface". It doesn't say how hard/soft it is or whether the points on the rest adjusting screws will "dig in".

I would think three legs would be just as stable as four and would be useable on a hard surface.

On the three vs. four leg thing, I have a very sturdy portable bench that is set up so that I can use it either way. (Three leg sockets at the back) Four takes a little more time because you need to adjust one leg every time you set it up or move it, but there is a definite advantage that makes the extra effort worthwhile for me.

Good morning fellas. Thanks for all the feedback.

I updated the website FAQ’s to answer the questions about using points on your front rest and the black surface, as well as others. I think you’ll find your answers there.

We have RH benches ready to ship.

We have had an abnormal number of orders for ambi’s recently but but we still have some ready as of this post. We have a fresh batch in process also so we can stay up with your demand.

Thanks again for the business and appreciate the kind words.
