My new favorite rifle!

AP2020,
Off-topic here. However, watching your videos, a western trick to get your game out of the hole is to take a piece of barbwire and stick it in the hole and twist it around much like you would a plumbing worm. It wraps the fur up on the barbs and you can then pull your groundhogs out. Good videos!
Great idea! I'll have to remember that!

I shot my friends Kevlar cz in 204 on some profs and I was hooked. Took a while to find a used Kevlar to come up for sale but when one did I snatched it up.
just started reloading and working on trying to find what it likes. The 40g vmax was shooting pretty good so working honing in a load.
will give the 39gr sbk a shot when I see them as they get stellar reviews

The .204 is a great round and fun to shoot but I have to say after I had a 6x204 reamer made and built a rifle with it spec'ed for the 95gr SMK and 87gr VMAX the .204 doesn't get used as much any more. The 6x204 kills the hell out of coyotes and deer and we have taken Rock chucks out past 800yrds. The barrel life is much greater too. Its a simple neck up on the brass, i used .204 full length bushing dies with a 6mm bushing and a .204 Forster Mic-seating die with a 6mm seating stem in it. Its not as fast as the .204 but after 300-400 yards it beats out the .204 in wind, drop and energy. And it is just a kick in the ass to shoot. Kind of get the same feeling I get when I shoot my .17 BlackRock, it just makes you want to laugh its so fun.
The .204 was fun for me but i found it didn't do anything my 22-250 didn't do for me. But when I took that .204 brass and necked it up to 6mm... well lets just say I started having more fun at further distances with a little cartridge that punches above its weight class for what it is.

What is a 17 Blackrock?

Hal
Its a wildcat me and my buddy built for my daughter for her high school graduation. Its based off of a .17 Rem, the shoulder is bumped forward , sides blown out and a 30* shoulder. Photo is a; .17 Rem case (Lt),
.17 BlackRock (center), loaded .17 Rem (Rt). Bullets are 25gr V-Max. No more dramatic case stretch and length trimming now with new shoulder.13322084_1372049076143795_6364289172621656110_n.jpg

The rifle I enjoy shooting the most right now is my DDM4 Hunter in 300 BLK. Semi auto rifles are fun to shoot. The 300 BLK shooting 125gr Speer TNT bullets are very accurate for a AR 15 rifle. Very easy to reload and very very easy to clean compared to most AR style rifles. Very little carbon build up and almost no copper fouling. Nothing like 75-77 gr. bullets in a 556 AR. Just enough recoil to know you are shooting a real rifle that is a serious weapon and one you can shoot all day. Bullets are cheap and 296 powder was made for this type of round. The M1 carbine has a great history and the 300 BLK rifle is a good modern interpretation with a 16" barrel shooting 125-130 gr. bullets. I shoot plenty of bolt guns but the DDM4 300 BLK Hunter is just plan fun to shoot.
