My new favorite bedding clay

I bought 15oz of play-doh, 5 cans, for $3.59 at the discount store. I used less than half of one tub for the last bedding job.

I like playdoh - it shrinks a little bit though so you need to be careful with it
I used to use a non hardening sulfite free modeling clay, but digging it out of wood grain was a pain.

I have some kneadable silicone mold making putty I'm going to experiment with for plugging parts of the action. Once mixed and formed, just leave it to cure and its a reusable silicone part molded to whatever you wanted. Would be nice to just plug the trigger slots and other areas with ready made silicone plugs.

I'd like to hear your results. This stuff came off wood pretty easily and didn't stain. It's a little waxy and did stick to the action... on a 700 type that's a pain because of all the little nooks and small spots. Brake cleaner sprayed it right off.

Someone with a 3d printer needs to print some plugs for the trigger opening and magazine wells. Plugs could even be printed for the trigger pin holes.

I'm tempted to just a piece of kapton tape over that whole area. Not much bedding area there anyway...

Exaflex. It's a 2 part product for mold making. Lots of dental supply vendors carry it. Durable and easy to use. Gets used all the time to mold features in machined parts that are hard to measure/inspect. Works perfect plugging holes in actions. Can be reused if carefully removed.
