I'm building a 7MM WSM now I have the choice of a 8.5 Twist are a 9" twist Krieger . Skyking you have a 8.7 twist ? How did you decide on that rate ?

I'm done with the Hybrids in this rifle. Can't make them shoot as well as the VLD's with this barrel.

I have 2 unopened boxes which I will sell if someone wants them. Same price as Midway, plus shipping.

Hey guys! Sorry I have not gotten back to you sooner.
When I had my gun built I told them I was wanting to shoot the Berger 168- 180's VLD's. George said he had a reamer that is set up just for those bullets. The 168 and 180 are the same profile, other than the 168 are shorter in the OAL. So if you seat both touching the lands. The 168 will just give you more room in the case. Yeah you can't seat the bullet way out there in the short action, but i am getting 2975fps so I really don't care. As the reamer specs go. I don't know. You would have to call GA Precision. Talk to George or Moon.
I just went with the twist rate that they suggested. Berger says 1-9 or faster. Works for me.
I did however shoot the Hybrid 180's the other day. I just did the exact same load as for the 180 VLD's. The only difference is. I could not get them to touch the lands without running out of room in the mag. So I just loaded them to max mag length. Never did shoot them at 100 yards. Shot them at the 1000 yard range, just to see if they had less drop, or better BC like they are saying. They had a least 2 feet more drop at that range over the vld's. I will have to do some more testing. But looks like the bc is off.
