My first Jewell trigger

Does anyone know what the Jewell HVRTS-A factory set at 1.5 lb will adjust down to? It says something about different springs but I don't know which it comes with.

All of my Jewell triggers ( bought from Great Scott ) have had the

"A" spring installed and are at about 1 pound pull.

Jewell states in their instruction sheet that the "A" spring will have an

adjustment range of 8oz to48oz ,the "B" spring 2oz to 16oz and the "C"

spring 1.5oz to 3oz. I hate to assume but the -A might indicate that the "A"

spring is factory installed.

YMMV

Steve

What a coincidence. I just finished installing a new Jewell HVRTS trigger in my 6.5 CM about an hour ago. Yes, just leave the 2 extra accessory springs alone in the little yellow envelope unless you want a pull under 8oz. It is the A spring that is already installed. I personally like my triggers with a little more pull at between 1 to 11/4 lbs and only had to tighten the screw in the trigger about 180 ° to quickly get where I wanted. These things are a marvel of engineering and worth their weight in gold. Enjoy!!

Just my opinion but if you intend to adjust below 1lb, switch to the B spring. The trigger starts acting weird if you go sub 1lb on the A spring, I would assume because it doesn't have enough spring preload left.

Hey Ray, I have always had 2 "other / extra" springs. 1 is for REALLY light and the 2nd for a heavier trigger pull. Having said that, I have always just stuck with the one that is inside the trigger itself. That one goes down to at least 2oz. where ALL of mine are set at..

Ray: I was also shorted the extra springs when I bought one of the Varmint triggers. Contacted Larry & he sent a replacement set.

I put my first one in a couple weeks ago. Mine came with the spares which I haven't used. If you contact Jewell they will send them out.

Mine (purchased from Bruno Shooter Supply, a fantastic buying experience) came out of the package set at 12 oz on my Lyman digital. I bumped it to 1lb 6oz for now for my own use. I haven't tried changing springs at all yet.

I would like to have the spring just for the option and I do want to try some long range bench so a low break would be great! I tried Bruno's and not there fault whatsoever, they actually followed up right away and what not but my bank stopped transaction! I know WTF, There response that all Debit card transactions to Arizona have been stopped because of a high fraud..I tried to get it worked out and couldn't so I have dealt with Southern Precision Rifles and think they are good people also!

A little late now, but a phone call to Jewell and they will probably ship you a spring @ no charge. At least they did for me about a year ago. Great trigger and service!

Well that was easy, Called Jewell asked them how much for the springs and they said don't worry about it and asked for my address!
