My First hydroformed 6 Dashe case. how does it look?

I just Hydro formed my first 6 dasher (lapua) case. how does this look?

Looks OK. I don't turn necks all the way to neck shoulder junction to minimise chance of creating a thin spot in the new shoulder. You may want to try hitting it a little harder or a second time to produce a more pronounced angle at the body shoulder junction.

Agree, hit it again, and/or harder.
I have a Hornady Dasher hydroform die, and I hit it 3 times with a 3 lb deadblow hammer (and had to add more water after the first hit). I'd say they were 95% or better.
I set mine to make the shoulder about .005 too long, then sized them back down to help form the shoulder. Don't know if it did any good, but seemed like a good idea at the time.

Another option is to get DJBS to help you. DJ also does hydro-forming.

Go to DJ's Brass Service web site. You will see a photo of a properly hydro-formed dasher. It will have sharp a shoulder and will be ready to shoot in a match. No fire forming necessary.

whatever you do. Do it quickly. get those cases de-capped & sized to dry. Don't leave them sitting around with water in them old primers. mike in ct

I would be concerned that you are going to blow out the shoulders - that thing has a ways to go yet. The first formed one on the left is the minimum I would go. The one on the far right is where you want to be.

Yes. For the most part, sizing only addressed the neck. Very little if any touch on the shoulder and body.

Like most of us, it just needed a good beating!

I wore out the seals on the Whidden die plunger o rings. They are a great place to do business. Always helpful and ready to support their products. new seals on the way. (bit of a learning curve for me in general, doing a hydroform case).

Looking forward tome new rifle build. Getting these things ready so when it arrives I'll be ready to hit the range.

Yep, need to hit it hard more than once, and they form up nice.

I probably went though 1 o-ring for every 25 pieces of brass. Let's just say it was packages of o-rings.

What got me was the plunger itself. It started to deteriorate at the top around 300, was really bad around 500, and was pretty much unusable by the time I got to 700 (limped it through).
