I shot my first 22 RF F-Class match this past weekend… the New Mexico State Conventional SB Rifle Prone Championship and managed to win the F-Class portion using my son's 1984 Anschutz 1813 Free Rifle. This rifle has a cheek piece that is straight up & down on the right side & I am left-handed. It was not a comfortable weekend! Think I need a new stock for it. The first 20 shots at 50 yards was a 200-19x & I went downhill from there. I had no flag or wind meter to put at the firing line like most of the shooters did. I just had to watch the impact area for dust and the few flags downrange at 50 yards. Dang the wind can really move that 40 gr slug around the target, especially at 100 yards. Finished with a 3176-210x. Many thanks to Lapua for making very fine 22 LR ammo. I can’t say I’m hooked, but I’ll probably try 22 FC again.
