My Experience With K&M

I'm not sure this is the place to post this, however, I wanted to let others know of my experience with K&M.

A short time ago I'd purchased 3 neck turning tools from K&M in order not to have to readjust when changing calibers. One of the tools had a slight malfunction. I sent an email to K&M and just a day later I received a call from Dave who asked that I elaborate. After discussion, he had me send the tool to his attention.

Within a short time after shipping I received another call from Dave telling me the problem had been rectified and they would be returning the tool in question. No argument. No insinuation I was at fault.

In this day and age of "buyer beware" I find this type of customer service very refreshing. They treated this situation (very small by any standards) as importantly as a large one.

In any case, my compliments to K&M for their dedication to the customer.

Jack,

K&M, another great company that serves the shooting community. I had a minor problem once, a phone call and conversation with Dave quickly resolved it. In todays world having companies like this is not a given. We are blessed with the folks who service our shooting needs.

They remind me of Clint Swigert. He deals in high end rimfire ammo for the die hard .22 RF shooters. He is honest as the day is long. If he is out of stock he will put you on a wait list for what you need and by God actually gets back to you. I'm looking at a shipping box of Midas ammo I just received that has been on order for a month or two. He sends you a bill by email and ships at the same time. A trusting soul and a business man, like K&M folks, we are lucky to have!!

Dealt with Ken Markel himself on my first couple of neck turners when his business was in Dover, PA. I was impressed that the instruction sheet was a hand sketch of the tool with a handwritten parts list -nothing fancy but complete information. Reminded me of the hand sketches used years ago by engineers before CadCam.
You can argue that there may be better user-friendly turners today, but they have served me well enough that I am content to stay with K&M. I like the fact that the price point is such that I can afford to have dedicated tools without having to re-adjust every time. I have bought a few new ones from the new owner and they are on par with the old ones quality-wise.
