OK I thought it would be nice to try and shoot a coyote or two with my baby girl.so we got on some close and went to the woods.now I had the right rifel to use but haven't shoot it in some time but we took it anyway.so when we got all set up for the hunt I choose to look the rifel over.after looking it over I choose to turn it up for a 300 yard shoot.now we are ready for a coyote to come out.well one did right where a turkey was standing when we first got their.I got down in the prone and put the dot where it was needed to be.yeah you may have guessed it right I missed that sucker.
now I am pissed some what bad.so I look the rifel over again to see what went wrong.well I found that I had reset the zero on the knob to zero for a 100 yard setting.I had it zero for a 300 yard shoot at first or when I had it last at the range.but after all that I made it good.now we are really set for a good shoot at any range from 100-500 yards.
well we choose to keep hunting.after about 10 minutes had past we got our chance again.the same coyote came right back out.put the dot right where it needed to be.yep we had a dead coyote on our hands.now my little girl just wanted to go and see what it looked like up close but told her to just hold onto her pants for a minute.well she did like I had asked her to do.guess what another came out just past 600 yards and we didn't even try to take a shoot.I really didn't feel we could get a good shoot on it so we let it go.( I was at my limit with 500 )now we are not coyote hunters by no means.what I mean is that we don't even own a call to hunt with.but I remembered reading about just useing any kind of game call you might have on hand.so I told her to go back to the truck and get my deer call.she did and we tried it out.I had it set to call out like a doe or young deer.after about 5 or more calls a third coyote came to about 200 yards away from us.well I put the dot on it and pulled the trigger.now we had two coyotes down and getting dark.so we ended our hunt with our first two coyotes.
we took some pics but haven't put them into the computer yet.but will add that I had one if not the best times out hunting with my baby girl.now if she would just go out and shoot a litttle more with me I would let her shoot.just hope that you guys/gals are able to enjoy our hunt as much as we did.just being able to spend time with her like that means alot to me.I even hope she will become a hunt one day.
