Lost my mother 10 years ago. I still cry at her memory, had 8 months to prepare for her leaving us and I was in no way ready. How can anyone be? My thoughts are with you and your loved ones, know that I shed a tear reading this as that pain hasn't left me completely. Prayers for all of you.

This sucks man. Been there myself, I lost mine just over two years ago now and my mother the year before that. Both were relatively young, 67 & 65 respectively and neither went quickly unfortunately but both were blessings when they went. Remember the good times and try to be the man he taught you to be. I wish I could say it gets easier as time goes on but I find myself thinking of him more now than I did when I first lost him. Prayers are with you man. Its tough but you will get through it.

I'm sure he is proud to have raised good kin folk such as your self.

There is never a good time for losing a loved one.
They have left their worldly home to a better place but the goodness and love live on thru you.
My mom went Tuesday to be with dad.
She was ready at 94.

" Well, that certainly may be true for the loved one that is leaving us, but for the ones they left, it's never going to give comfort immediately. Never has for me. Im sorry to hear about your loss. My deepest condolences. Mine passed over 14 years ago. But he is still with me every hunt and every time I shoot the .270 he bought me when I turned 16. If you shared this hobby we on here all love he will be with you just the same.
