Got my lumber order Sunday afternoon and started laying out bottom plates. Finished my framing
today and started on the electrical stuff,,the biggest thing to remember is that ELECTRICITY CAN
KILL YOU.There's a lot to think about here and it has hit me very hard in this time. When your
doing everything by yourself it will take a lot of time, and as you get older it takes longer to get
up and down them damn ladders. All you younger folks, take the time to learn everything you are
able to from older people like me. I would be glad to share all the knowledge I received from my
father and grandfather. Alright Josh,you can make a stock, but I can build a shop.

Hey More Power to ya Pirate. that’s great at your age. 5 or 6 years ago I built a pole barn by myself. it’s a satisfying thing isn’t it. Good Job

That's my donation jar for school supplies for low income area schools here local.With all that's going on this year,I'm not sure what we are going to do yet.

Probably fire retardant lumber. We did a garage addition last year and about 1/3 of my 2x4’s came in that way.

Comes that way from Lowes, not sure why they stain it it's all just yellow pine.Maybe they do it to make it easier for their employees o tell the difference between
92 5/8" and 96".

Great job. I love building. I poured and finished a 8000 sf.slab on Monday, glad I don't do it everyday anymore. I know it's supposed to keep you young, but those 200-300 yarders are getting a little harder. And I'll only be 61 this year.

Why are you going lite on those ceiling joists! Looks like 2x8 on 24” centers. You can’t store diddly on that! It’ll be a trampoline if you walk on it!
Do I have to come over there and help you do it right???

Not going to store squat up there.Stuff gets stored upstairs never gets looked at again,, besides,that means stairs or more climbing damn ladders.

If you can..... install a conduit to areas that might be changing (Data, Media, Security, Power) makes getting a cable through a finished area much easier. Nice job Captin!

Put some 1/2" aluminum backed foamboard inside the exterior walls. You wont be sorry. Cut up and put in the ovhd door panels also. Seal with aluminum duct tape. Keep heat out, warm in.

About 4" of sprayfoam insulation takes care of everything,put it everywhere.
