My Case for the Shortages are NOT Consumer Driven (at this point)

So, let us do some logical thinking here....

I live in Oklahoma. Here in Oklahoma we have a thing called DOVE SEASON. Now, every year (and do mean every year), you can go to the retail stores and they will literally have entire aisles of pallets of shotgun shells in dove loads. Pallets... Maybe 6 or 8 PALLETS of dove loads out at once. At every single store... Walmart, Academy Sports, Bass Pro, etc etc on any given year is receiving orders of dozens of PALLETS of dove loads (at every store).

Every single year.

Now... these are STANDING ORDERS with the largest manufacturers in the country to produce shotgun shells. From stores that order 100s of millions of dollars worth of product every single year. You do NOT tell these stores to pound sand, unless you have a very specific reason.

Well sir, these pallets of ammo never showed up... certainly not here in Tulsa. Where these massive quantities that arrive have been arriving since I was a kid.

The conclusion is this shortage is NOT consumer driven. It is NOT shortage driven. It is something else...

PS: Please do not attack me. This is just something I have been paying attention too and I found the narrative makes no sense. Draw your own conclusions.

I'm told firearms related manufacturers were considered essential, and not shut down by covid.

Generally, I don't believe ANY of the current narratives.

Every manufacturer I deal with that does government contracts has been completely overwhelmed by government agency contracts. These contracts are structured so that they can literally take over their equipment until it is done.

I believe this is why you are seeing smatterings of 22 cal and 30 cal bullets and not 6mm. They are running them for government contracts, and there are overruns.

I do not believe they are allowed to tell anyone either.

I agree with you!
It’s hard to get a drink when when someone closes the valve on the other end of the pipe.

I agree, I Don't see the "millions" of new gun owners needing or buying 12ga 7 1/2 shot dove loads. Not much of it here in central Texas either.

I live in Tulsa no more Doves then I have seen you would not need many.I do not know why the season is not later after crops have been harvested and fall weather has had a chance to get the birds on the move,

My barrel manufacturer was diverted for a government order of 100,000 M4 barrels. That is why they are running out of steel...

Keep in mind ONE PLANT for FN here in the states makes 25,000 M4 rifles a month.

A month.

The consumer market is being decimated... but Homeland Security is on a buying spree with your money.

Here in DFW I noticed the lack of pallets of shotgun shells 3 weeks ago at a local Academy.

1st time I have ever seen anything like this leading up to dove season.

I have a feeling hunting season is going to start becoming more quiet.

I have guys BEGGING me to load ammo for them. I feel bad. They don't understand I can't just make ammo. Certain situations...maybe. but that's super close friends or relatives and I have everything or they can supply it. And they absolutely aren't coming after me if their gun blows up or something bizarre.

They don't understand I only have what I have. They can't get ammo or powders or bullets or dies so I can always end the conversation and not have to say no.

I just don't believe ammo manufacturers have been running "more than ever" and almost 2 years later we barely see a sprinkle on the shelves.

Most Hoarders and preppers aren't buying at these prices either.

Things don't ease up soon and I know I won't be shooting for recreation nearly as much as I'd like.

I've been shooting my bow a lot....lol

They are resupplying what they left for our enemies. The government needs them so they can come after your AR-15 and 9 mm pistol. Oh and by the way don't forget to wear your mask and don't worry about those illegal immigrants in Texas they don't have no diseases.

here in the north east there is still a lot of shotgun only deer zones and there hasnt been any slugs available in two years. i donated what i had to the local kids to help last year this year dont look good for the kids

a gun is only a club without ammo.
