My 'Boring Rifle'!

This rifle is so accurate it's just plumb dang boring to shoot! I get tired of shooting 'knots' from 1000 yds. with it!

Tell us more! I see it is left handed. What are the components? Who built it? What caliber?

Jon Beanland build! Rem 700 action/fluted bolt/Krieger barrel w/1-8.5 Rot stuffed into a McMillian stock. Most accurate rifle/cartridge I have ever fired. 6.5x47Lapua it is. Load is 38.5 Varget, 123 gr. Sierra HPBT or 130 gr. Berger, BR4 primer w/Lapua brass! No neck turning or other BS...just prime/charge/shoot! After a few days of 'ladder testing'.....it did this for me at final confirmation from 1000 yds. 4 impacts at the one 'splatter'. Wind slacked a tat...I held a little left and it broke slightly low and that's where it hit! 1.5" vertical! This was with the Sierra bullet. That 1.5" nut holding the plates on isn't safe from 1000!!

Thanks, sounds like fun to me. These "boring" type rifles improve your chances of learning how to read the wind since you know it is only the wind moving the bullet around.! Thanks for sharing!

I am tempted to give some of the credit to the shooter as well. A good rifle in the wrong hands/my hands probably wouldn't do that at that range. I hope some day to be able to draw on the potential of a rifle like that.
