found a ghog hunters paradise. MANY acres of hayfield and pasture not hunted in years. landowner once shot them but now is a benchrest competitor and gave me a green light on the site. he swears there are 16 lb animals there! two trips and have found a setup site that will offer my best chance of such a monster...if "harvested" i will consider having such an animal mounted. last sat saw a large spread out ghog on a bale of hay facing away at a mere 260 yds. i don't usually like shooting them in the rear since i've had a few to crawl away...bullet not making it to the vitals. this time i was shooting my favorite 22-250 pushing a 63 gr cheek bullet that i hollowpoint . placed it just above left flank and saw the mist and heard a good WWHHHAAACCCKKK! the pig went flying out of sight...we'll check her out later. another came out to eat, stood facing me and i just about cut him in half with an 80 gr fowler from a 6x47 lapua...DRT NO QUESTION! had to check out the bale sitter and there she was. no blood, no holes, just a dead 13 lb 5 oz ghog with good teeth, smooth fur, bright reddish hair around shoulders and armpits and very dead! her brother should push the 16 lb weight by sept/oct. "i'll be back".
