My best 300 yard group.

I shoot groundhog at 200 - 300 - and 400. A couple of weeks ago, my new 30 BR shot a great 300 yard group.

When I proudly showed it to one of my buddies his only comment was...."a little more powder will get rid of
that vertical."

Thanks for the nice comments. It is a 5 shot group. We shoot 5 shots at 200, 300 and 400. Six minutes at 200 and 300 and nine minutes at 400. Unlimited
sighter on the right side of the target. To get an X, shot must be completely inside the circle not touching the ten ring. I normally don't get 5 X's in the entire
match.

Shooting these matches have given me a new lease on my shooting career. They are a ton of fun!

This is a funny 400 yard target with my 22 BR . The 7 ring shot was the last shot, of course. Note the two X's on the right sighter target.

Very nice shooting. I'm shooting a new Shehane 30BR using Cheek 118s. Had the rifle for a couple of months but am focusing on 100 yards at the moment. I use a 6mm BR for 300.

What's your rifle build? Action, barrel, etc? What's your load? When you shoot groups like that, you gotta share man!

The top 300 yard target is with my new 30 BR. It is a Bat B with 28 inch Kreiger barrel. Jewell trigger in a McMillan MBA stock. Scope is a Nightforce NSX with 2DD reticle and 1/8 min clicks. Built by Sid Goodling in Spring Grove, Pa. It really, really shoots. This load was 115 10X bullets and 32.7 grain H4198. I just ran out of the 10X and started shooting a new lot of 110's I bought locally.

The second target is a 400 yard shot with my 22 BR. It is a Bat with 26 inch Kreiger, Jewel trigger and McMillan hunter stock (which sucks for this game). Same scope as the 30 BR. I shoot a 75 grain Berger VLD and 28 1/2 grains of Varget. That gave me 3,140 fps when gun was new. It now has about 1,500 rounds through it and still shoots. I am waiting for a new Roy Hunter stock. I think the my best 400 yard score is 48. That target was a 47, but it was the very last shot that went in
the 7 ring. The first two shots on the sighter were on top of each of. If I had only shot one sighter.....oh well....that's what keeps us coming back.

By the way, I shoot at the St Thomas Sportsman's Club in South Centeral Pa. Great fun.....club match every Tuesday and big match second Saturday.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

Jim
