My 6MM BRA Seating Depth Test

I went out this morning and shot a seating depth test @ 200 yds.
Winds were out of the N and NW 3-5 MPH.
6MM BRA , 30.6 grs of H4895 CCI 450 primers

I'm pretty happy with this, thinking I will try seating @ -0.018 and try a load test @ 300 yards.

Any comments -your thoughts welcome / appreciated. Oh I shot this off of sand bags front and back.

Oh, I had brought more powder charge test loads with me to shoot at 300 yards this morning, all were seated +0.005 into the lands, (which had a slightly stiff bolt opening , and the loads -0.005 did not suffer a slightly stiff opening).

I decided to take the powder charge test loads home and re-seat them to the -0.018 seating depth and then shoot all of the P-loads at 300 yards and see how they group.

After thinking on this for a few days, I have decided to seat the bullets -0.005 off the lands. I will shoot the Powder Charge Load testing at 300 yards on a Relatively calm day. If One of the powder charge loads shoots better that the others, I can revisit the seating depth test to see If I can improve the grouping.

I'm shooting a 6BRA across the lake from you. Don't know what bullets you are using, but I test at -0.005", just touching the lands and +0.005", using H4895, CCI BR and Federal GM primers. I am very happy with my rifle. Shooting Vaportrail's and soon to test Bart's Hammers. Formed my brass with Berger's and did some testing, just liked the Vaportrail's better.

I did some seating depth tests yesterday on my 6BR---not a BRA--- with 105 Hybrids, and found the best seating depth to be +.005 to + .010, where it shot a .126 3 shot group. I am planning more tests with up to +.015.

I suggest you try some with the + (into the lands) on your next test.

oops, I looked at your target again, and see that you tried a +.005 and had a hard bolt lift, Never mind.

I have found my Dasher with 105 HB do best at + .008 to .012 .
