My 30 Nosler lost it's virginity today.
Shot him at 225 yards. He ran about 25 yards. As usual the majority of the bullet was found on the off side hide. Even with no exit he left a good blood trail from his mouth. And entrance.
Mcgowen 10 twist. 200gr Hybrid (not 200.20x) .015 jump, reloder25 at 3150 fps. Very consistent load, .6 moa is the largest cold bore five shot groups it shoots from a hunting bag. Most days is in the .fours.
My shout out to PVA self timing brakes. Love these things, I own three. I always wear ear muffs on my head and pull it down right before the shot but this buck came out HOT and my window of opportunity was so short I didn't have time to pull them over my ears. My 8×4 blind usually amplifies blast but my ears didn't even ring. I'm not advocating guys not wearing hearing protection but these brakes are not punishing.
