I think the taxidermist must have made a mistake and put the elk horns on your deer and your deer horns on the elk

It is better than I expected, thanks for the kind comments. The rifle was an Ar-15 in 223 at about 110 yds.

It was the Sierra 65gr Gameking and it was behind the right shoulder, quartering away from me. He was with 2 does and it was bang, flop. I could not believe how effective it was. I had never shot a deer with the 223 before. I had a 6.8 when they came out, but never shot anything with it. Always wanted and used a magnum of some sort and used everything from 300 Ultra, 7 STW, 7mm Mag, 300 WM. Never a 223, but the bullet done a great job and it did pass through.

Did you score his rack? How many scoreable points?

I did not, I just knew it was my best buck ever. I have shot plenty in Brooke County in the 120 range. Grew up there and I try to go back every year. Not as easy since I lost my Hero, my Dad in 2013.

Got a call today that he should be ready next week. We will see. The gentleman that is doing him is a artist, no need to rush.

That's a once in a lifetime Buck! Absolutely gorgeous and you should be proud. In PA with our stupid point count, I wouldn't think twice about breaking the sear and doing a ground count.
