My .20 Plain Jane Build

Pretty cool man! Converted a 22 rimfire 40x some years ago to 17 hmr with a shillen tube with that stock.

I am considering building that caliber so I would also like to see the results of your load work up. I have been to Numrich arms a few times and I was amazed and their inventory of gun parts. You can get lost in there. You did a good job on this rifle.

Thanks guys, its a coincidence that you just renewed this thread, because I JUST got back from this rifle's maiden voyage. We had a rare afternoon for us, and the breeze wasn't the normal 30mph.:)

I didn't do much load development with these first shots, and mainly went to get the "seasoning shots" out of the way. (Shoot one - clean, shoot one - clean etc.) I only used one type of bullet, Nosler 32 gr. BT Spitz. And I did shoot three different powders, but only low level charges that differ by one full grain. Just wanted to get in the ballpark with something and hopefully get lucky.

My first group of TEN, cleaned between each shot was a smidge over an inch. The other five shot groups, cleaned between each group were all sub 1", with the best one probably a little over .5". Soooooo -- no bugholes, but no disasters either.

I'll put the calipers on them and write the data, and post targets a little later. jd
