muzzle brakes on 30BR..

I'm completely new to the 30BR. I've got a barrel comming for a 30BR savage build though that has a brake on it.. Just wondering if any, how many have experience with this caliber with a brake.. The barrel is 22" long, and heavy..

Thanks, Toot

Hi...since brakes are not legal in organized NBRSA/IBS competition, and the cost of building a Bencrest rifle is so hi..very few can say...are u building a PD rifle, with a brake so you can spot ur own shots??? or did u take a bbl that was a 30 mag sumthin or other with a brake and re-chamber...and what twist...if it isnt 15-17 you wont get full advantage of the lil' bullets.....just wanderin ....It shud shoot good with it on there....Roger

groovy...with the price of gas a lot of us are doing more shootin in the bak yard....nobody is gonna take our guns ..we are gonna have to sell em to get a tank of gas...!!
I hope ur freebore is .000 or real short..it will let u use the lil,110-120gr) bullets that do so well in that cal...is ur neck no turn...there is a fellow here that is doing one now...we shure hope it simplifies the brass prep...we are going to use 4198..it is the best according to all info out there...Roger

The barrel I'm getting is a .332" Robinet neck. He said he turns the entire neck. He's only got about 250 rounds down the barrel.
I was assuming it is a "0" freebore. I will check. From what I've been reading the 115gr bullets are a good thing in most.. I'll be back,, Toot
