Can I get 1 and 1/4+ turns on a crush washer or should I order a Shim Kit for 5/8"-24 Muzzle?

That's a little more than I would want to do if it was mine. I would do the shim kit.

1/24= 0.0416” 1 rotation you will never even come close to that on crush fit. I understand the washer is taper but think about how much torque it would require to move it that far.

I don’t like shims. As long as the threads are deep enough, I will put some emery cloth on a very flat surface and use it to very carefully remove enough metal to time the brake. I’ve never not had this work for me. Just make sure to check frequently since you can’t put metal back!
