Muzzle brake in Suppressor? Fast attach

I have fast attach Surefire cans on a couple of my rifles and use SF’s flash hider to attach to. My thought is that on the rare occasion when I may shoot without a can, I don’t want a ear splitting muzzle brake. My question is if I used the muzzle brake fast attach instead of the flash hider would it provide more reduction in recoil with the can on then using the flash hider or does the can negate any benefit of brake? The can is brake enough for most of my shooting...

Flash hider does nothing for recoil and serves no purpose inside a can. Ive cut them off right behind the openings after getting carbon buildup and locking the can on

No. It must vent gas rearward to reduce recoil.

Most of what a brake does is to have the back of the baffles be struck by the high pressure gas, pulling the gun forward. A can does much the same thing so I doubt you'll see a big difference in felt recoil. The "rocket affect" is a very small percentage of how a brake works. Lots of brakes out there that don't have ports angled rearward. Alinwa got banned from here or he'd write a book on brakes in this thread.

A good brake will reduce muzzle rise some and felt recoil while not adding much weight. Noise is the drawback. My suppressor reduces felt recoil but I still get more muzzle rise with it than with the brake.
