Musgrave?

Anyone here know anything about Musgrave Single Shot actions? I might have a line on one and was thinking it might make a good beginner F/TR rifle for me.

Thanks

TrxR , Musgrave actions were made in South Africa and predominately used in Fullbore TR . You will find them still giving good service in many British Commonwealth countries. If memory serves, production ceased in the mid 90's. I can't swear to it but I think there is one bloke at my local range using a Musgrave in F Class.
If the price is right, I think the Musgrave would be a good starter receiver for F Class.

regards
Mike

I was looking at one a while back and from what I can remember, they were better than a factory actions, but not quite up to the standards of todays custom, or BR actions. If the price is right, would make a great F class rig.

In '98 while on a business trip in Scotland I had the opportunity to shoot a Musgrave in their Championship at Blair Atholl, the rifle was loaned to me by Charles Young. The action is massive, solid bottom. I think the system properly smithed and bedded it would make an excellent starter F-Class rifle.

Just for interest sake.

I have one of the older mid 1980 Musgrave's chambered in .308 and it still shoots as good as any of my other "new" rifles
Very nice rifles and very sought after here in SA
