Multicam fatiuges

Yeah, really odd question for here but kinda want to see before I drop some cash.

Been looking a the surplus/used multicam fatigues for coyote hunting this spring. I see that they are fire and insect repellant, my first thought is they are going to be pretty funky to wear an as it gets warmer seems that swamp crotch would be on the forecast as well.

Anyone have a set of these and could tell me if they are decent or if I should just cough up the cash for some regular light cammo gear.

Are you talking as issued multicams? If so just be sure to wear undies and a t shirt underneath and you'll be good. We wear them out here when we have to no problem and it can be 100 to -30 depending on the time of year. Yes they can get grungy but once they are broke in they are like a favorite pair of pajamas that you can't be separated from.

Clean them like 10 times before use to fade and break them in fast.

I believe they are the issued ones, though I wouldn't know the difference over ebay.

All of the ones I've seen are listed polly/cotton blend 65/35 flame and insect resistant. Seen some used ones for under $75 top and trousers. Need to check my local surplus store also.

Of all the clothing I have, if I had to choose one to wear for weeks at a time it would be one of my beat up sets of ACU's as I have grown accustomed to the way they feel after 6 days of no showers. There is something oddly comfortable about an old beat up uniform even as a kid my uncle would give me his worn out button down shirts from working at the post office. Most comfortable dress shirts I own are those. Miss that uncle especially his fried alligator.

Mmmm, fried alligator.

Guess if you guys are wearing them in 100 temps then the 'flame/insect' coating isn't bad, just had visions of what the old 300% polyester clothes used to feel like in summer.

It looks like things have changed over time. In RVN, if you wore drawers with your jungle utilities, you were setting yourself up for the worse case of rot in a very unspeakable place. It took me 2 weeks before I went commando and never a problem after that. I was a slow learner.

The newer chemicals in the fabric really shouldn't be worn against any sensitive skin as they can leave a pretty severe rash. We would wear black silk weights underneath and hide the uniforms during field exercises to get past the guards that were on duty at the time. Always won but always got DQ'd every time.
