Mueller 8-32x44 target dot scope

I don't own one but, from what I've read, the main issues seem to be repeatability for return to zero and uncertainty of click stops in turrets.

I have some interest in that scope myself. The only Meuller I have is a 4.5-14x. I have used it little, but found the accuracy of the adjustments to be questionable. However, the optical clarity is astoundingly good, not just for a cheap scope, but for any scope! The only thing I can say about the 8-32 is to study the ratings on Midway etc. For an inexpensive high power scope, I like the 10-40 Osprey, but for some reason the supply of new ones has dried up. They are going for a premium used now. You might look for a used 8-32 Burris.

In my humble opinion, great scope with excellent clarity for the money. I've got two of them, one on my .308 and the other I've used for Rimfire Competition and I shoot only for accuracy and punch paper at the range. Some folks may not be aware, but the adjustment factor or clicks on the Mueller scope are 1/2 that of most other scopes, allowing for more precise or "smaller" adjustment as well as total range of adjustment. And that info comes directly from Mueller scopes who I spoke too when using a standard base and running out of windage and elevation at 25 yds while attempting to zero my new 8 X 32 X 44. That means you must use the appropriate base for not only your rifle, but for the scope as well. For instance, on my Savage Rimfire MKII TR, I ended up having to use a 20 MOA base that allows for the wider range of adjustment using the Mueller scope. Therefore, if you have a mismatch, you can simply run out of windage or elevation adjustment using a Mueller scope as did I. Personally, I've never experienced any of the aforementioned issues some of the other have mentioned with either of my scopes and I purposefully sent one back to Mueller thinking something was wrong, which it wasn't.
Just something to consider, but for the money I doubt Mueller's can be beaten for what you are getting.

Shynloco, I must not be understanding what you are saying. How will a 20MOA rail have any impact at all with the Windage adjustment?

Also as to the click value. Are you saying that these are 1/16th clicks?

Dont worry too much about power..You will find shooting dogs mostly on 15x +-...Windage and range will vary immensely between groups of 3 to 5 shots...You will use Kentucky windage a LOT ... Otherwise you will twist your adjusting knobs off in 2000 rounds...LT
