I used to presort bullets, tip to ogive, before trimming.
Last batch I randomly measured a few bullets to find the longest ones. I set the trimmer for those and did the entire batch sorting the bullets as they came out of the trimmer by feel and visual confirmation.
1. Uniformed entirely
2. Uniformed partially
3. Not cut at all.
It was actually a good sort by feel and visual confirmation.
I then ran partials and not cuts through again at increased trimmer settings.
Process was very efficient and seems as good or better than pre-sorting....and eliminated that laborious aspect.
