Mt. Lion

I have booked a hunt to go get a kitty. Now comes the fun stuff. What do i use, bow gun if gun what gun. I was thinking 223 with barnes solids? We will be using hounds and the shots should be 30yds and less. The guide doesnt care what we use said they are not that hard to kill. What would you use?

I sure wouldn't use a solid on your kitty, when a good BT will do what needs done.
In a hand gun, a 357 magnum will do the job no problem, but so will a 22rf in the right place that close...

I have purchased these for my grand kids to use on deer next season. Should work well on mountain lions too.

Got a couple boxes of each one. Going to shoot them this spring and see what loads shoots the best in which gun. Then turn the kids loose next fall.

Good luck and have a great time. Being back pictures if you can.

We are not allowed to hunt Mt. Lion here in the land of fruits and nuts thanks to the brain trust in Sacramento and all the bleeding hearts that don't want us to shoot...we'll shoot anything.

However I have a friend that lives in Nevada and he uses a 22-250 JHP rounds in 55grn.

He's taken them on the ground and in tree's. He's never had a blow through and like someone else said they die really easy.
