I really think you only need to be sane and rational to recognize that going next door and killing two people over petty theft is a crime worthy of a long prison sentence.

As far as taking a life goes, a very Wise man once said "Do not be so eager to take what it is that you cannot return."
Taking a life, whatever the circumstances or justification, even if it to save your own life rides heavy upon you for the rest of your life. I speak from experience.

I would say a key question here would be did Mr. Horn shoot them in the front while they were coming toward him, or in the back as they were running from him? This will be a key question that a jury would use to decide whether the man was justified in his actions.

I don't think it was right that Mr.Horn went out with the intent to kill, he should have said "Stop you under arrest" not "stop or your dead".
But because of the New Black Panthers, Quannell X, and one of the thief's girl friends saying what a good guy this thief was, this just shows how stupid this woman is to get on national TV and say how great a illegal alien thief is.

AND YES I SENT MONEY TO MR.HORN DEFIENCE. and if I lived closer I'd protest the protesters.

As for my opinion, the scumbags accepted that there were occupational risks in their trade. They got what was coming to them. Horn was the one with the balls to do what most will only say they will do.

I don't think I would have approached it way Horn did but I'm certainly not going to condemn him for his actions. If I stood on one fence or the other, I support him.

If it is true that the illegals dropped the stolen merchandise and moved toward Joe Horn,,in an aggressive/threatening action) AND, they were on Joe Horns property when shot, then I believe he is justified according to Texas law. A stranger breaking into my house at 2 a.m. in the morning will not be given the benefit of the doubt or quizzed as to what his intentions are. He has violated my home and will be dealt with accordingly. If you are ever in this situation, do not make ANY statements to the police; call your lawyer. The police have to act in accordance with laws passed by a liberal and lenient judicial system who think Tookie Williams and Mumia Abu Jamal are rehabilitatable.

Screw that,Id rather take my chances with a jury than with an armed intruder.Let the DA prove you didnt try to flee,the intruder wont be testifying.

I read the news article that is on the first page about the third post . the law that is quoted makes it sound to me like he will be cleared. if he is charged with a crime i think it would be a disgrace. it was obvious from what he told the 911 dispatcher that he did not want to shoot any body so his actions were not malicious. gunamonth, the shooter you refer to is a personal friend of mine. On the previous evening, the 42 yr. old victim was drunk and threatened to assualt my friend's teen age daughter. The police were called and told the victim to stay away. Next morning, he appeared at my friend's door and was hung over with a knife in his hand. He threatened to take the girl with him. One shot to the chest with a .45 and the guy dropped dead near the front door. The DA did not charge my friend because he found no evidence of premeditated murder. Would you defend your teen age daughter in line manner?

Back to Mr Horn...I read the 911 call and this man is sick. It doesn't matter what law may or may not protect him, he is a sick individual that needs a psychiatric evaluation. Anyone that shoots someone in this type of situation MUST be a coward and this type of person is the very reason that our gun rights are being threatened. When something like this takes place it makes all gun owners look bad and that's just common sense.

Well it looks like TEXAS has a good law. GRAND JURY found not guilty and filed no charges.

It is nice to know there is some sanity left in the US.

Mr. Horn is a very lucky man, however it might not be over yet. He said

some bad things going out the door that still may come back to bite him.

There are a lot of sleazy lawyers out there looking for some one to sue,
