Moving to New Jersey

better watch what ammo you have too. no Hollow points allowed, even 22LR ammo. had a guy from my hometown arrested there for that one. just passing thru, got pulled over, and a few loose pieces of ammo laying in the floor. straight to jail, even with no gun in the vehicle.

They shoot HP down in Delaware at Bridgeville. I think they do some type of shooting around Millville NJ.

Hi AJY16,

I know these are the responses you didnt want to see but the sad fact is that NJ is an unfriendly state when it comes to gun ownership.

That said there are people who shoot over there. I hate to recommend a different message board on this site but ar15.com has a "hometown" section with a board dedicated to every state, including NJ. I am certain you can get the information you are looking for from NJ shooters.

Hmmm... With a match calendar dated 2004 I'd have to take any info posted there with some hesitancy.

I have recommended the pages on service rifle loads to others though, that hasn't changed much in the 8 years since being posted unless you want info on new bullets / powders / primers.

Well Guys, I definitely don't have a warm fuzzy feeling about this.

TheSnake, I once too said no amount of money would get me to move off "The Farm" in Ohio. I was proven wrong!

MrMajestic, I definitely grabbed my ankles and kissed my @$$ good buy when I realized that the real estate taxes for the 1450 sq. ft. house on a half acre in NJ are TEN TIMES what I pay on my 40 acres w/ a 2,000 sq ft house in Ohio! BTW Thanks for the link to NJHighpower.

FreyGuy, you ruined my day! I was at least hoping to get the reloading gear set up so I could stay busy in between trips back to The Farm. I guess they don't like Match Kings much out here either, since they are the bullet of choice of every gangster, crook, criminal with a 9mm!

I knew I was getting into it deep when I decided to move out here. Just didn't realize it was this bad. What a bunch of commies. A few years ago a buddy and I decided at the last minute to sign up for the service rifle clinic at the national matches at Perry. We were in the pits next to a couple of good dudes from Massachusetts who had driven all night to get there for the clinic and were leaving to go back after the match on Sunday to be back in MA for work Monday morning. I thought they were crazy then I realized how lucky we were to be able to shoot at Perry and sleep in our own beds at night. I've made it a point to at least visit the matches every year since and warmly welcome the competitors from out of town and drop a few dollars at commercial row.

I finally get it now, I mean REALLY get it. For those who live (or have a place like me, thank goodness) outside of NJ, NY, CA, IL, and other commie cities, say a prayer of thanks for our liberty and lets do what we can to bring some reason to these God forsaken places!
