Mounting scope bases to receivers?

Guys,
When you mount a rail to the receiver do you put any JB weld, lock-tite, or any other chemical substance between the top of the receiver and the underside of the base?

Chuck

Imagine that, I just slap a little lock-tite on the screws. and torque them down.....What have I been missing? How many of you out there bed your rails, how do you do it, why do you do it?
, not to steal any of JB's thunder)

Come on fess up!!!!

Chuck

Dave.. Do you do this? How can you tell if you need to? Sounds like fun. I use mostly NightForce and Badger rails.

Chuck

Just make sure you don't get any bedding compound in those threads, and coat your screws with release agent.
Otherwise you'll have some real fun getting it apart.

Personally I use Davidson bases, and they are about as perfect a fit as I could possibly want. But this is on a custom action, not a Rem/Win/Sav/etc. that is mass produced and drilled on the assembly line.
