Mounting options for a Sako 85

I need a little help from you guys. I have a Sako 85 varmint in 243. Right now it has Talley bases and Tally 30mm rings. I really do not like this set up nor do I like the style of rings. I am wanting to use a pic rail and sell off the bases and rings. I looked around a little but no luck finding what I want. I have plenty of new scope rings in the box to use, I just need to know if and who makes a quality pic rail for a model 85 Sako?

Thanks,
Dan

My son in law is in the same boat. Cant find much of anything.

Europtics has one, I was sent the link, it did not work for me. Give them a call.

I checked their site and came across 1 but it was listed as no longer available. I will call them Monday and see what they have to say. I have dealt with them in the past and they are good people.

Get a rail from near manufacturing

I did come across them while looking. I hear they make quality stuff and it looks like they are my best bet in getting what I am wanting. I did come across on SWFA a company called Valdada ( I think ) that makes and offers a 2 piece pic rail. The front extends out some and gives you some room to be able to adjust your rings a little forward or rearward. I seemed to like them and not having the port closed off completely but not sure about quality or how secure they would mount to the receiver.

Is there any chance Sako uses the same 19mm(.750")dovetail that CZ 550 uses? Might add to the options.
Cz mounts have a built in recoil lug. But CZ makes a nice dovetail to rail adapter.

Basically the way I run al my Sakos, I also dont like the port closed. The IOR/Valada rails are good

No the way the rail attaches to the top of the action is unique and very good, once its on that rail wont move

I can’t remember what Sako model this was, maybe an 85... a gentleman was in the same boat and wanted a picatinny rail. I picked up a Nightforce blank and installed it for him. If I had to do it over it would have looked better to have machined the taper’s into the underside to cover them up.
