Motor For Sinclair Case Trimmer

Soon to take delivery of a Sinclair case trimming set-up and am keen to power it from a dedicated motor. Any suggestions for purchasing one of the right torque, speed and size?

I’ve looked at the so-called “Power Center” from Sinclair but even at the current, and it must be said favourable $ - £ exchange rate – that’s from the Isle I’m standing on, it just don’t look like 400 bucks worth of engineering to this eye!

Thanks

If their power center was set up for case trimming it might be worth a look, but as it is? Well, it's not for me. I have a clunky old RCBS multi tool station that does just fine for case prep work.

For a power trimmer I use Lymans. It works but is otherwise unremarkable

As for your motor issue, I can't really help other than to tell you to keep the speed low, torque medium and cutter sharp. I hope you have a micrometer stop on your setup. -Rod-

I would go to a local electronis surplus house and look for a Pittman gear motor 9000 series about 12volt and 30-60:1 gear ratio. A pittman 12v gear motor will run on up to 24v and a 24v motor will run upto 48V, lots of torque. You can power it with a wall wart of the desired DC voltage. Normall you can find these motors for about $10, they run $100 new
