Mothers day meal

So what are yall serving up for a mother's day meal.
I put this pork shoulder on last night and pulled it off this morning. I cooked it a day early since the forecast was rain all day today.
Start time was 6pm yesterday and pulled if off at 730 am..

Chicken Piccata is one of my favorites. My recipe is much like the recipe you cited but I deglaze the pan with white wine.

We're headed over to my son's house, daughter will be there too with their spouses. I'm sure a little beer will emerge close to the grill! Nice to have our kids close as we age.

Mom gave me her Apple pie recipe, took me several attempts and calls home,before she shared her secrets. Miss her(2016), make a pie every once in awhile, see her in my mind when I smell the pie in the oven.

Slow cooked roast beef salt, pepper, bay leafs, celery seed, onions, whistshire sauce, garlic with home made bread and mashed potatoes with salt, onion powder, sour cream, and butter. Served open face on the bread with a gravy made from the roast drippings, fresh mushrooms and starch of your choice.

Wine, Beer or Meade of your choice just not Bud Light.

Wife and kids all enjoyed and it was all super simple.

If it was just the wife and I I would have added carrots, cabbage, potatoes to as a stew and maybe fennel. My twins are home from college so I made something everyone would like.

I have a lot of herbs I planted around the house to choke weeds so I have them right up against foundation. Sweet Basil is another good one!

I like to put a glaze on the bread especially if making rolls with Rosemary, Thyme or Basil.
