Douglas barrels

Decided last Friday it was time to rebarrel my tang safety M77 22-250. Pulled the barrel and headed it to them. Tracking showed it got there Monday morning. Next day I get a call and get told it's done and headed back! Get off work today and it's waiting for me at home. Less than a week total!

Looks great, has about .500" less freebore than my original lol. Now hopefully get a chance to work load for it this weekend.

Thanks for everything Stan!!

"Thanks for your kind words sir."

Stan,
You earn the kind words!
Hope to get to the range this coming week to do some load testing with the .222 you chambered and barreled for me. Have 16 rounds thru it here at the house. It cleans up easy and not showing any signs of fowling.

Hope everyone takes my post as a twisted joke!! I have never had a bad experience with a Douglas. Before I did barrel work I got 6 barrels or barreled receivers from Dave Carver @ IT&D for friends/relatives when he was in business and they all shoot great, from 222 to 300Win. Another 3 or 4 by another smith and 3 currently of my own with another blank setting in my work room waiting for me to decide what other .224 I don't need.lol Just wanted to clarify my sick humor, sometimes it is taken opposite of the way it was meant!

I totally understand.

"Is it one of Stan's REMAGE tubes?"

If you are asking about my .222 barrel it is a shouldered barrel fitted to a Remington 700.

The best part of the deal was the "road trip" to pick it up and meeting and talking to Stan for awhile. Only hard part was finding the place, it is hidden in plan view! Drove right by it several times, even with excellent directions from the front desk, was well worth the visit. My wife and I grew up across the river from Douglas. Had been there with my dad in the early 60's but Cross Lanes was a far different place then.

I've had three rifles rebarrelled with Douglas barrels and I'm very very pleased with them. The gun smith who installed them also deserves honorable mention for fitting them perfectly.

My first Douglas is a 700/300 (pre-mk13) 300WM they did a custom tactical profile for. I wanted CM so we could parkerized all the metal work on the rifle and Douglas seemed to be the only game in town. What a wonderful shooting rifle. Cleans up quick even though 100% of the shots are with a 9" suppressor. The baked on carbon and fouling is tremendous. I can't recommend them enough and though Lilja is spec for the "clone" when it starts opening up my order is going back to Douglas.

Got it shooting this weekend. 52 Speer bthp with 40 gr 414. Shooting off bipod and rear bag from bench. 2 separate three shot groups on same target about 15 minutes apart all covered by a dime @ 100. Should be close.

Chucks better keep their heads down!
