Most expensive coyote.

Dropped my 1st one using the Gen3, D740 NV scope at 105 yds. Female w/mange. Then the storm hit in NE, pouring rains,30mph winds...gave it up after that.
The place was running with GIANT jackrabbits, and I though everyone was a coyote due to thier size, till they moved.
This female popped up out of the tall grasses & sat facing me at 80yds & looking at it I thought rabbit, but held onto it till I saw it turn....shoot coyote & put the cross hair on it and DRT. 65g vmax in my 6x45 Savage build again!
The call was titmouse VERY low.
Saw 11 coyotes on 3 ranches w/the ps32 & ls64 units
Now I need 400 more to feel like Ive broke even w/my NV setup.
A couple of trail camers pics over another dead pile, swift fox & coyote pair.

Always enjoy seeing and reading your reports. This one confused me because I have no clue what a NV scope is, though I do see one of those stubby combat things on your rifle.

Also not sure where NE is? Nebraska???

You live in Wyoming. Land of the great varmints. Why leave?

Anyhow, nice to see your picture and kill.

Capt,
NV = night vision scope. Mine is a D740, thats 4x with an IR attached if Ineed it.
Nebraska NV & thermal is legal & NOT in WY. I have 12 ranches in NE and only a 1hour drive for me.
I have ranches in WY and do have night hunting privilages on 1 of them so far, but still I have to use just standard kill lights on them.

Don't feel bad, I figure that the ground hogs I've shot over the past 40 years have cost me about $150.00 per pound. :( But I wouldn't trade the experiences and fun I've had for all that money - besides what else would I do with the money. :)

Out of curiosity, I looked up the scope and am relatively sure that I had a brief coronary episode.

Thanks for the info.

Was at a local rifle range today and asked a guy about your "stuf". He gave me an education.

Make good use of it.

The most expensive coyote is a stock killer that you miss or cant kill.

I second that. Every calf they kill will be worth a minimum of $800-900 this fall (according to my crystal ball), possibly much more if they are a purebred breeder. And every one that you loose comes right out of the profit, the fixed costs are still there.

At least that how I justify my spending habit ;D

NICE...
Finally got to shoot one with mine.
Wrong bullet but it done the job.
Got some 65 v-max's loaded and looking forward to the next one.

I agree, the ranchers told me every calf is a $600 bill minimum & these are just milk cows.
The pure bred angus rancher said $800 for every new calf. I could say its paid since we have shot over 217 since Oct this year between 2 of us.

Man I've got to get out of the city. I have deer, fox and ground hogs walking through my backyard all the time, some of my neighbors call them pets. i can't deal with jail time or the fines for discharging a firearm in city limits.

Not suggesting that you break the law or anything but a 22 short in a long barrel 22 rifle makes less noise than a pellet gun. Just saying...

I was just amazed at how nightvision is usable. I used a nv attachment in Texas to shoot one pig, at about 250 yds. A scope like your pinnacle would be awesome to hunt with.

Do not fear the darkness ,fear What hunts in the darkness!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
