Most Accurate Mag Fed Cartridge?

About a month ago, I put up this post. http://forum.accurateshooter.com/index.php?topic=3813668.0

Was looking for the most accurate cartridge out 100 - 300 yards. My requirements were as shown below, but have edited them slightly. If the cartridge has to be mag fed, then what? I did not ask that to start with as I was not sure whether I wanted mag fed or not, or what I might have to give up in accuracy if mag fed. While the 6mmBR generally came out on top from responses to my original post, it does not appear that round works that well with mags. People have done it, but I am no gunsmith. Other calibers that might work, or have I set the bar too high?

1) Very good accuracy. With right gun, capable of shooting into the twos.
2) Barrel life of 2750+ rounds.
3) Recoil less than a 308 preferred.
4) Modest brass preparation. The 6PPC from Russian brass is more than I want to do.
5) Tolerant and not fickle on loads, shooting well with a wide variety of combinations.
6) Decent brass life.

Thanks,

Phil

222 or 223 Rem with Lapua brass meets or exceeds all of your criteria

I am having built a 6br in an XLR tactical chassis that will feed through AI mags. At least that's the goal. The smith is prepared to try everything possible to make it work. I'm truly hoping he succeeds. It will look exactly like this, minus the brake, and be a 6br of course. Worse case it will be single shot.

6.5X47 Lapua in a SA. I chambered a Remington 788 in 6-6.5X47 Lapua for just this reason.

I find I have something of a soft spot for the 6.5 x 47 for some reason. It could very well end up being the choice, but unsure how accuracy fares vs a 6mmBR at 100, 200, and sometimes 300 yards.

Phil, everything I have read says the 6mmbr is the easiest tunable cartridge over almost everything. The 30 br is good too.You can get ready custom made brass for the 30 br because there is a fella on here who makes it ti whatever neck size you need.It isnt cheap but the 30 br is really accurate just like the 6br.I have 3 6br's and love them.

jelrod1. what accuracy international mags do you plan on running in the xlr chassis? I'm not aware of one for the 6mmbr. I have there Tactical chassis and love it in 223. as for the original post. I have a savage fcp-k in 223 that's in the xlr chassis and it shoots incredible. 1.5" ten shot groups at 300 are the norm.

It will be modified .308 mags. We think the cartridge will have to be pushed forward around a 1/4" or so from the back of the mag and the follower will probably have to be modified to keep it from nose diving. He already has the extraction issues ironed out just has not done one in an AI mag yet. Only BDL's to this point.

I don't know if you are stuck on a bolt gun, but...
I like my .220 Thunderbolt.

This group was shot last week with iron sights and a sling at 200 yds. The ctc 5 shot group measures .570".
