Most accurate .223 bullet~?

I'm shooting a Ruger 77 with a 1;12 twist barrel with minimum modifications, and I want to gather a consensus of experiences about bullets. I'm looking for weights under 55gr. I'd like to know what you have found to be the most accurate bullet you've and are using~!

50-grain VMax, 52-grain AMax (now ELD-M) and 53-grain VMax (may be marginal stability in your 1-12").

Berger 52 grain match.

Sierra blitzing 50 grains and Berger 52s in just about any flavor.

For a 12 twist, factory bullets, the Sierra 55 Blitzkings work the best in my 22BR.

50 and 55 grain Nosler BT's in 12" twist bolt rifles. Good luck finding them.

As an alternative, Hornady 50 and 55 Vmax's which seem more readily available.

I know you specified under 55 grains but some of my absolute best groups in 12" twist bolt rifles has been with 55 Nosler and Hornady bullets. I wouldn't rule them out if I was you.

I have a m77 varmint/target model. Same twist. I use nosler varmint ballistic tip 50gr. I bought it used from my gunsmith and it was the best bullet he found for it.

Nosler, Berger, Hornady and Speer all make 50-55 grain bullets. Some also the 53 & 53 grainers. For the most accurate one of these, you are going to have to see which one YOUR RIFLE likes best for accuracy.

Don't laugh at me...

Before the Berger 52, I had my best groups in a factory rifle with Sierra 55 grain SP with no cannular. (22-250) and in 222, 50 grain SP. They shot great in the 12 and 14 twist barrels.

I shot my smallest groups with a hunting rifle using Sierra 52gr hpbt. 22-250 with 1:12 twist. One holers.

but my go to bullet is a 80 Nosler HP for the 224 Valkyrie and 22 Creedmoor
different bullets altogether in the 22 Hornet 45 gr. Speer's

Boy what a question. I think all gun barrels like different bullets. Mine seem to love the 40 50 and 55 grain Nosler ballistic tips a lot.

Lots of them can shoot very well. The most accurate bullet is the one that shoots best in your rifle. And these days, you've gotta use what's available.

OP, are you just punching paper or are you varmint hunting?
For varmints, it’s tough to beat the plastic tipped bullets like the Sierra Blitz Kings, Nosler Ballistic Tips, Hornady Vmax.
For shooting paper targets then the Berger 52 grain and the Sierra 52 grain hpbt match will shoot as good as your rifle will allow.

When I had more 223’s than one should I liked the Speer TNT across the board. I did shoot some Berger’s, the TNT were so close in the several really accurate ones the price point won out.

As mentioned there is no “one” that is “the” bullet. Lol, explains why I have amassed such a large selection of .224 projectiles. I just went through and loaded up a bunch of partial boxes of various brands and makes that are no longer offered no sense in liking them if ya can’t get them.

Most barrels are different..some very different.ive found that most custom-benchrest bullets shoot the best,that's what I use.i use them for target and varminting.no probs.i use mainly Berger because of the availability.Fowlers and Barts are excellent also.any of these bullets can make a mediocre rifle shine with the appropriate home load...try them.

I found some Shilen 52 gr benchrest bullets, haven't tried them yet.
