I can see the reason behind this logistic but this method is no longer practical way to verify nowadays. It has been about 25 years since cell phones became common and most of us do not even have land lines anymore today. In that time span a lot of us have since relocated into the next area code, into the next state and even across the country while we kept our cell numbers.Check the Area code of the message -- make sure it is consistent with the REAL seller's location.
Also just be mindful that a lot of honest shooters like us are hearing impaired or deaf and cannot always execute voice calls ourselves.
Forum Boss: Yes there may be an issue for some members with hearing -- but this is still a vital security measure. The scammers do typically claim that they can't hear -- that is typically used as an excuse to a request for a voice conversation.
