More records fall at Deep Creek

In spite of another so-so weather year at DC many 1000 yard IBS records still fell.

4 shooters broke the 20 match score agg in light gun. Nick Howlett, Lonnie Anderson, David Torgerson, and Darin Van Oosterhout. Nick came out on top with a 48.4 and will hold the record but all 4 will be given credit for breaking the old one.

Nick also broke the 12 match score agg and will hold it with a 49.833

David Torgerson and Nick Howlett Broke the 20 match group agg. David will hold it with a 3.922" Thats all 20 targets across 5 months and probably 70 degrees in the 3"s.

Even when the year gets off to a rough start and the weather isnt kind somehow these guys still squeak them out. Contrats!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations guys.

100 shots with 100 measured in the 3s.....figured it would be Torge!

How about a basic equipment list for the mentioned shooters.......GREAT Job Guys

Regards
Rick

There's going to be more variety than normal!! Especially Torge, I don't know how many guns he involved in all 20 targets. Lonnie and Nick I think stuck with 6mm, but Darin likely never shot a 6 lol.

Congratulations you “clowns” evolution and mastering that evolution through Results or stats is very satisfying… congratulations to another year of solid work but the best is still out in front of use of that I’m sure… what a naughty season of shooting Deep Creek dished out. Looking forward to what 2025 season will give in the shape of groups on paper.. this was a season of many “firsts” for many shooters Notably all guys mentioned above where proofing and agging new things learned through equipment, cartridges , loading techniques and equipment handling… bring on 2025

I used the BAT B with Lilja 4 grove shooting Vapor Trails chambered by Shawn Williams, and the BAT SV with the 6.5X47L Bartlein shooting Berger LRBT smithed by Alex Wheeler.
About mid season I was almost out of the 2019 Vapor Trails that the Lilja loved so much, so I switched to the 6.5, in order to save some for Nationals.
The 6.5 was probably the easiest to tune I have had.
We have great gunsmiths too.
