More NRA intrigue?

I was a Life Member for over 30 years. The last dozen or so I received the publication via email. Changed email provider and forgot the password to old account-lost track of what was going on till one day, along with the ballot, I got a paper copy of the AR. In it was an add for a coin with the face of you know who, so I canceled my membership. That was during His Exaltedness's first go round.

The process of throttling the Executive Branch's power may involve a re-write (unless we would rather have a King), where the Amendments will all be in play.

America is the organization we should support. Rather than buying another high priced toy, donate to candidates who share our values.
WE HAVE ! That's why the current Administration is in power . We saw ; up close and personally what "that" other Party had in store for us , both as citizens , and as members of the 2A community .

Therein lies our problem. Party. Like a religious cult, they demand acceptance of, and fealty to, the officially sanctioned narrative. Unlike gods, governments have police power, along with a taste for exercising it. Support for candidates, not parties.

Those who have yet to be thoroughly embarrassed by the current government escape me. It should be possible to secure rights while retaining dignity.

Perhaps AI will make politics obsolete.

I was embarrassed by the previous government, not the current one.

I just renewed my "Annual" NRA lifetime membership. Did it a little early so I could get the free blue-tooth speaker. Maybe I can use it as a wireless coyote call. ;)

The reason I keep membership is just because it's part of the package that is me. I'm not a rich guy, but I throw money at as many good causes as I think I can afford. I try to vote for the right kind of candidates and causes. I belong to a Christian church and I mention Jesus' name when I get the chance. I do stuff for free for folks who need stuff done for free, and I try to help young folks do those kind of things too.
I know a lot about being a miserable, miserly, stingy worthless bastard, and I try not to be that way - but sometimes I still am.
And may the Lord forgive me for mentioning so many things that I'm kinda proud of.

Me giving 40 bucks to the NRA isn't gonna make or break me or them - but I just prefer to do it. jd

Our local ranges all require NRA membership to join so early last year I got a 5yr membership and been getting the mostly worthless hunter magazine (that almost has no hunting info in it) since. All good there.

However appears the NRA is still pretty messed up, or at least I'd hope they are because they have been bugging me ever since to join, same name and address but they don't seem to know I'm already a member. It's either that or they are intentionally doing it in the hopes people will be dopey and sign up twice.

For what it's worth, I've experienced, and I have noticed on this posting, the abundance of clubs that require a person to be a member of the NRA to join that club. I think this is illegal and should be stopped. Look at what this mandatory rule has cost all of us! Six million dollar salaries, silk suits, and so on! That's what we have been forced to pay for. If a club is wanting to support the NRA, let them do it voluntarily, but don't make it mandatory. It's just another unnecessary cost, like the $200 tax we've had to pay to buy a noise suppressor. I think we should speak up and tell these clubs that we don't think this should be a part of becoming a member.

I belong to a wonderful range that is owned by the county, it is 70 miles away. There is a privately owned club range about 12 miles away. (Built in middle of a well known mule deer wintering area.) I didn't inquire at the club range, I didn't want the NRA discussion.
