more 6BR 13.5 twist tests

got some 62.5 gr BT`s that Larry Averritt made and started with 28 grs LT32,,went as high as 31.5 grs but with no pressure signs and not much change in groups,so I loaded 10 at 29.5 and the rifle seemed to like that load pretty well also,,
sure is a fun caliber to load for and shoot,,

shot 2 5 shot groups today in between showers and thunder and lightening,,wind wasnt real bad,at least was switching directions, just gusts and letups,,

I found a 268 NK 60 Thou Freebore 6BR Reamer For light bullets for a couple of 13.5 Twist Barrels. I have been watching your thread and it looks like your getting it done with your project, Looks Fun and I have 16 lbs of Lt-32 powder to use in it. LOL !

Gene Harwood, Director of the National Benchrest Shooter's Ass'n sat a world record in the late 80's with a 6 BR and his own 60g bullets, Heavy Varmint Class rifle in registered match. His agg was tiny to say the least, using a 24" HV barrel contour, 60's at 3700 fps. He chewed me out on a squirrel shooting trip that I took him on when he saw me shooting H322, told me to use nothing but 335 in my 6 BR.

I could not wait to get home to try the H335 and my own 60's. Shot some groups in the very, very low 1's that day and out of a 22" barrel(retired BR barrel), I was getting speeds in the 3600 fps area. Further more, 100 shots down the barrel, and the barrel still looked clean looking down the bore which really paid off in barrel life and shot strings needed before cleaning on the p. dog towns.

Twist in my barrel was a 14 twist, and Gene shot 14 Twists also. H335 proved to be a stellar performer up to 70g bullets, great speed. Today, I am shooting AA2230 with the 55's at 3900 fps out of a 12T lilja with zero freebore, unreal accuracy at 300 yards, walks off and leaves 70g bullets in the dust with wind drift and bullet drop with the 70's doing 3550.

I would urge you to get some AA2230 or H335 for the 62's and stand by for the shock of your life using a 7 1/2 primer.

Try AA2230. Fantastic in 6br. I use 33.0 gr. with 58 V-Max and get 1/4" groups.

I shot Barts 68s with 29.5 LT32 going 3350 at our first UBR match this year,,it shot great considering the conditions,,with 33.5 H335 I get great 5 shot groups at 3500 fps but havent shot it in a match to see if it will hold together over an 7 hour time span and the temp and humidity changes over an all day match,,
I may try it next w/e just to find out,,

at 34.2 H335 the 62.5s shoot really good at 3610 fps from the 23" 13.5 twist bbl but again I am kind skidish of shooting a load that fast in match conditions,,
I may try that load next w/e also but just havent decided yet,,

I know what the LT32 load at 3350 is gonna do but would sure like the extra help of the 3600 fps load in the wind but I dont want to be fighting a bunch of vertical ever few minutes as the temps and humidity start to go haywire,,
the 68 Barts shoot really well with 32.2 VVN 135 right at 3400 fps,,

heck it shoots everything really well ,,I just need it to stay on track all day and I know the LT32 load will do that even if it is the slowest,,
