More 6,5x47 load data arrived from Lapua!!!

,Text now edited)

Many thanks to Darrell for his contribution!

Does anyone else have any load data for European powders yet, Norma or VV? I have emailed Lapua, but received no reply yet.

I'm expecting to be loading/shooting in about 2 weeks with .288 neck dies in the mail, brass on my bench,no problem to get it here), a selection of powders ready and the barrel promised delivered shortly.

I'll be shooting a 24" 1:825 barrel in a hunting rifle. Basically I wanted a short-action 6,5mm with no-fuss, top quality components readily available. 6,5x284 was not an option due to barrel life.

,new input from Lapua below)
Here is reloading data:

Bullet 108 grs Scenar COL = 2.736 inches

N133 starting charge 30.3 grs maximum charge 34.0 grs

N135 starting charge 31.5 grs maximum charge 34.5 grs

N140 starting charge 34.4 grs maximum charge 38.7 grs

N150 starting charge 36.3 grs maximum charge 40.6 grs

Bullet 123 grs Scenar COL = 2.736 inches

N140 starting charge 33.2 grs maximum charge 36.4 grs

N540 starting charge 35.7 grs maximum charge 39.6 grs

N150 starting charge 34.4 grs maximum charge 37.8 grs

Bullet 139 grs Scenar COL = 2.736 inches

N140 starting charge 30.9 grs maximum charge 34.7 grs

N540 starting charge 33.5 grs maximum charge 37.4 grs

N150 starting charge 32.4 grs maximum charge 36.0 grs

How is your loading/shooting working out?

I am particularly interested in the velocity of the 95gr VMax in the same length barrel as you are using,24").

I can confirm that the Lapua load listed for the 123 and N540, 39.6 is definitely maximum. Actually, 39.0 was too hot in my rifle, as I could barely lift the bolt. Time to pull some bullets....

I am sure enjoying the new "47" though!!!

For what it's worth, with my 6.5 x47, the last 600 yard match, I shot 36.7 gr of RL 15 with Lapua 123's loaded .012 in the lands with CCI BR-4 primers. The load chronos right around 3000 fps and my prone score was a 200/16x. RL 15 shoots pretty well in that cartridge and gives great accuracy, velocity and good chrono numbers too.

Technically RL 15 is a European Powder,Swedish).

Robert,

I have some Varget,an older lot and pretty warm for Varget) on hand, and am going to give it a try with the 123s.

I shot it with some Norma 130s today, and some Lapua 108s, and it shot very well with both. I was running 37g with the 130 w/ a CCI 450. Did not chrono it, but shot groups of .672, .629, and .849 all at 300 yards - 5 shot groups.

Have you tried any 108s? They were shooting well also, all groups under 1" at 300 yards.
